I read the "Zebra Storyteller" for class and found it to be very interesting, if not confusing. The point of the story is what confuses me the most; it is a humerous anecdote, but there seems that there must be a hidden meaning that the writer is trying to get across to the audience. The last line : "This is the function of the storyteller" was probably where I got confused, but this is probably the point. Is the fuction of a storyteller, in the eyes of the author, to make sure that a story does not get out of control? Or is it to create stories that make the audience think and to respond in ways that might be as retarded as mine?
